The original name for Aricept is Donepezil

Aricept is a white crystalline powder

Aricept is freely soluble in chloroform

Aricept is soluble in water

Aricept is soluble in glacial acetic acid

Aricept is slightly soluble in ethanol and slightly soluble in acetonitrile

Aricept is practically insoluble in ethyl acetate and in n – hexane

Aricept is used in the treatment of Alzheimer`s disease

Aricept has an oral bioavailability of one hundred percent

Aricept is used to increase cortical acetylcholine

Aricept is able to easily cross the blood – brain barrier

Aricept has been tested in varied cognitive disorders, such as; Lewy body dementia and Vascular dementia

Aricept interacts with Aspirin and causes unpleasant side effects

Aricept interacts with cholinergic drugs, such as; Bethanechol and causes unpleasant side effects

Aricept interacts with cholinesterase inhibitors, such as; Neostigmine and causes unpleasant side effects

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.

If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

slow heartbeat
liver disease
low blood pressure
parkinson`s disease
seizures
severe headaches
stomach/intestinal disease
asthma/other lung disease
difficulty passing urine
head injury
heart disease

Aricept may make the patient drowsy or cause vision problems

While on the Aricept medication course the patient must exercise caution while engaging in activities requiring alertness or clear vision such as driving or using machinery

While on the Aricept medication course the patient must limit their intake of alcoholic beverages
