Chantix-Champix |  | Chantix, Champix - DescriptionChantix - Champix (Varenicline) may be described as a nicotinic receptor partial agonist, which is available in tablet form. This medication is similar to Cytisine another smoking cessation medication but, different from the nicotinic antagonist, Bupropion and nicotine replacement therapies (NRTs), such as nicotine patches (commonly called the patch) and nicotine gum.

Chantix Champix (Varenicline) is used to help effectively treat smoking addiction, reduce nicotine cravings and decrease the pleasurable effects of cigarettes and other tobacco products.
Furthermore, Chantix Champix (Varenicline) is also used to effectively provide pleasurable smoking effects to a certain extent only, just to ease withdrawal symptoms by blocking the harmful effects of nicotine from real cigarettes. This medication is also used to help smokers to reduce their incessant cravings and eventually quit the bad habit. However, you must also know that Chantix Champix (Varenicline) does not contain any actual nicotine.

 |  | How To Use Chantix, Champix
Chantix Champix (Varenicline) is available in tablet form and in different strengths of 1mg and 0.5mg respectively. This medication must be taken exactly as prescribed by your health care professional. However, heavy smokers are encouraged to take two pills a day of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) for a minimum of twelve weeks, but only after they have consulted their respective health care professional. However, Chantix Champix (Varenicline) has not been tested and caution is advised when using this medication in the case of children less than 18 years of age.
Furthermore, you must be sure to follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask your health care professional or pharmacist to explain any part of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) you do not understand. You must also be sure to take this medication exactly as directed and refrain from taking a greater or lesser quantity of this medication or altogether taking this medication more or less often than prescribed by your health care professional. Be sure that you do not suddenly discontinue Chantix Champix (Varenicline) without prior confirmation from your health care professional. Your dose must be gradually decreased, since certain conditions may worsen when this medication is abruptly discontinued.
Lastly, you must also consult and reconfirm with your health care professional prior to commencing a course of Chantix Champix (Varenicline), since you must be certain of taking the right potency prescribed by your health care professional in the case of this particular medication.

 |  | Chantix, Champix - Side Effects
While on an ongoing course of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) if you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact your health care professional.
Sometimes, Chantix Champix (Varenicline) may cause the patient to experience nausea, mild agitation, weakness, constipation, redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin (including the insides of the mouth), headaches, mild abdominal pain and insomnia.
Furthermore, Chantix Champix (Varenicline) may cause the patient to experience skin rashes, flatulence, dysgeusia (a change in taste within the mouth), fatigue, vomiting, an itching sensation and hives.

(Varenicline) before you commence taking any new medication (either prescription or OTC), you must first consult your health care professional or pharmacist.
Furthermore, you must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are allergic to Chantix Champix (Varenicline) or any other medication in any other form. Your health care professional must also be informed if you are taking any other medication in any other form, including nutritional supplements or herbal products, whilst on an ongoing course of this medication.
Sometimes, Chantix Champix (Varenicline) interacts with various medications, such as insulin, medications used to treat asthma and blood thinners, such as Warfarin. |

In case of an overdose of Chantix Champix (Varenicline), call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911. |

Your health care professional may order certain laboratory and/or medical tests to be performed, such as blood pressure levels, smooth functioning of the kidneys, blood electrolyte levels and blood cholesterol levels to check your response to Chantix Champix (Varenicline), monitor your progress and check for side effects. You must be sure to keep all appointments with your health care professional and the laboratory. Do not let anyone else take your prescribed dosage of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) and ask your health care professional or pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription.
Furthermore, if you need to undergo any kind of surgery including dental surgery, or you conceive whilst on a course of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) inform your health care professional. You must be sure to inform your health care professional if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive. You must know that Chantix Champix (Varenicline) may or may not pass into breast milk.
Lastly, avoid consuming alcohol and beverages containing even a small percentage of alcohol whilst on an ongoing course of Chantix Champix (Varenicline). It is important that you do not discontinue this medication without first consulting your health care professional. While on an ongoing course of Chantix Champix (Varenicline), you must also refrain from driving a car or operating any kind of machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

It is important that you do not take a double dose of Chantix Champix (Varenicline) to make up for a missed one unless you have consulted your health care professional. |

Store Chantix Champix (Varenicline) in the container it came in, keep the lid tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature (between 59 86 degrees F or 15 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat and moisture.
Furthermore, you must be sure to throw away any Chantix Champix (Varenicline) medication that has gotten outdated or is no longer required. But, speak with your pharmacist or health care professional, or consult your local waste disposal company about the proper method by which you can safely and effectively discard your unused Chantix Champix (Varenicline) medication.
